Recycle Center Information

The Eclectic Recycling Center is operated by the volunteers of the Eclectic Volunteer Fire Department. Proceeds from the recycle center go to the Fire Department to help pay for equipment and fire fighting gear. The Fire Department appreciates the continued support from the community. If anyone has questions, please call 334-541-4425.

For our health and safety empty and rinse all containers.

We accept mixed paper, cardboard, #1 and #2 plastic and aluminum cans. See detailed lists below to assit you with items that may be recycled at our center.

Remove plastic bags before putting paper in the bin

CARDBOARD
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Frozen food boxes
  • Cereal boxes
  • Gift boxes
  • Tissue boxes

It is helpful to our volunteers if boxes are flattened before dropping them off.

CARDBOARD NOT ACCEPTED
  • Used pizza boxes
  • Drink cartons with plastic spout
  • Boxes with attached plastic (ex: toy packages)

Remove packing material, noodles, styrofoam, plastic and paper from cardboard boxes.

PLASTICS - #1 and #2 ONLY

Plastic #1 – PETE or PET

  • Soda bottles
  • Water bottles
  • Sports drinks
  • Salad dressing containers
  • Mouthwash bottles

Cans do not have to be crushed but if you do, it will help to save space in our recycle center.

 

The Recycling Center will NOT take:

  • Paint Cans or Plastic Containers
  • Liquid Motor Wastes
  • Medical Supplies
  • Car Batteries
  • Paint
  • Tires
  • Hazardous Materials
  • Green Waste
  • Building Materials
  • Furniture
  • Household items
  • Palstic Bags
  • Televisions
  • Styrofoam

Any hazardous materials will not be accepted at the Recycling Center. For example, oil based paints, pool chemicals, anti-freeze, pesticides, asbestos, driveway sealant, etc.
